Japan has become the first country to see mobile broadband data revenue exceed voice revenue. That assessment comes from the GSMA, an association which represents mobile operators throughout the world. GSMA says that it expects data revenues to surpass voice revenues on a global basis by 2018.
It projects that Argentina will be the next country to see the switch, with that occurring sometime this year. The same is expected in the United States and United Kingdom in 2014.
